About The Company


The company was formed in 1998 after Dorothy Blane and Lorna Mackenzie decided that an independent travel agency was what Kilmarnock and Ayrshire required. The team has a total of over 100 years of experience in travel coupled with ABTA bonding that set the foundations for Blane Travel and the local approach to global travel to be restored.

 

The combination of this experience together with the friendly, local no pressure approach to sales is why Blane Travel are such a successful company.

 

They now operate with a team of 6 staff from the office in Bank Street and with their expertise and experience Blane Travel are able to deal with a broad range of holidays from a short break to a world cruise or personalised travel requirements; whether car hire, ferry travel, parking, pre and post holiday hotels all can be dealt with by the staff.


Meet The Team

Lorna MacKenzie

Director

I am a Director of Blane Travel and started the company in 1998. I have travelled to many destinations including Dubai and the Maldives. The Maldives is one of my favourite places along with other areas of Europe.

My main role is dealing with the day to day running of the company and aftersales but I still really enjoy getting involved with clients.

Linda MacKenzie

Director

I have worked in Blane travel since 1998 and became a Director in 2006. I love working with clients to create their own unique dream holiday.

Each day offers a different challenge, whether it be a city break to Barcelona or a round the world trip. No two days are the same.

We are truly independent and can offer exactly what the client wants.
My last holiday was to Sandals in St. Lucia in the Caribbean. It’s a beautiful lush country and the people are so friendly. I have visited various Sandals resorts and can highly recommend them for a wedding or a honeymoon.

Kay Ross

Senior Travel Consultant

I started working in Blane Travel in September ’98, a few months after it opened. Previous to this I worked with Dorothy, Lorna and Linda in AT Mays for years. I consider us as good friends and not just colleagues. I work part-time now to accommodate family life and I feel I have the best of both worlds.
We don’t have targets to meet or work on commission, so the atmosphere in the office is very pleasant and stress free. I consider myself very fortunate to be able to say I enjoy my job and appreciate being able to help customers turn their dreams into reality.

Janey Murray

Senior Travel Consultant

I have worked in the Travel Industry for seventeen years and have been with Blane Travel since 2007. I have travelled and cruised to various destinations, but my speciality and favourite destination is Florida, which I have been travelling to since 1985.


Linda Cairns

Travel Consultant

I first joined Travel after leaving school as a Y.T.S trainee with A.T.Mays. I worked there for 8 years, until I got married and had a family.
Four years ago, I was given the opportunity to join Blane Travel part-time to cover maternity leave.
I’m delighted to say that I am still here and love the fact that no two days are the same working in the Travel Industry.
Earlier this year I was in Turkey, and previously St Lucia, which was an amazing and fantastic experience.
